Resolute Intention

Resolute Intention

Resolution- A firm decision to do OR not do something.

These can be powerful if the intention, motivation behind them is compassionate and clear!

Motivation- the act or process of giving someone a reason for doing something.

Ex: “I am going to exercise 30 minutes, 4 days a week for 3 months so I can lose 20 lbs.”

As you set new goals ask yourself the following:

  1. Why is it important to me?
  2. Am I doing this for me, or someone else?
  3. Is this sustainable?
  4. Have I set this goal before? If so, what didn’t work?
  5. Is the thought of adjusting this stressful? Where is that coming from?
  6. Is this about awareness with compassion or judgment and comparison?

You can make checklists, add accountability apps and read all the books.

BUT if you don’t truly understand the why, the deeper reasons behind your motivation it will only be a matter of time before that unconscious programming runs the show.

Inside out. Listen to all parts of yourself. Adjust as needed.

Intention- the process of healing a wound. An aim or plan
